Not mad as in angry. Mad as in "crazy". Literally, "Lost her mind".

Спасибо. Я хотела сначала написать crazy, но подумала, что mad будет лучше :)

Yea, true, we say it too. But its a well known saying. If you just say "im mad" it means ur PO'd.
